JAX Food Grade Lubricants

From the team at Glockner Oil Company

Food Grade lubricants in Pet Food – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued food safety regulations and guidance for the manufacture of animal food, including the use of food grade lubricants.

• Beginning in late 2016, animal food facilities were required to comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) requirements.

• The CGMP requires that food grade lubricants must be used when the lubricant will become part of the animal food, and recommends they be used when the lubricant unintentionally could come in contact with the animal food.

• The rule requires animal food facilities to have a food safety plan and preventative controls plan in place as part of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and include documented process, sanitation, and other controls to prevent adulteration of the food.

• Glockner Oil Company offers a full range of JAX application-engineered food grade lubricants to support the manufacturing and packaging of Pet Food.
